Downloading Your Veloxa Build Code
On every plan, including Free, you can download a project as a zip of plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript files. This guide covers what the download contains, what it leaves out, and what to check before you host it somewhere else.
Download a project
- Open the project in the builder.
- Click the Download project button in the preview toolbar. On a phone, it is in the toolbar's "…" menu.
- Your browser saves a zip named after the project.
What is in the zip
The project's current files, in the same folders as in the builder:
- The pages (
.html), styles and scripts the AI wrote. - The
assets/folder with the files you attached: logos, photos, PDFs and so on. - The app icon and web app manifest the builder generates to make the app installable. Their links are relative, so they also work when the site is opened from disk or hosted in a subfolder.
Not included: the version history and the conversation. They stay in the builder, and the download is always the current version.
Running it somewhere else
The pages, styles and scripts are ordinary web files, so they run on any static host, including a VeloxaHost server. Before you move an app, check these:
| What | What to know |
|---|---|
| Built-in backend | User sign-in, file storage, the database and AI features talk to Veloxa Build's services, not to anything in the zip. Test them on the new host, and plan to replace them if you leave Veloxa Build entirely. |
| Forms and the Inbox | Forms and the Inbox stop working when the site is served from anywhere other than veloxa.site. |
| Badge and editing script | Each page loads one small script from build.veloxahost.com. It shows the "Made with Veloxa Build" badge on the page and connects the page to the builder's click-to-edit. |
| Libraries from public CDNs | Pages may load styling or icon libraries from public CDNs, so they need an internet connection to look right. |
| Updates | The copy does not change when you edit the project in the builder. Download again after each change. |
There is no GitHub sync. The download is the way to take your code out of Veloxa Build.
When an app outgrows the builder
Download it and run it on VeloxaHost hosting or on a VeloxaHost server, on the same bill as your builder plan. The Quick Start covers creating your first server.
