Hourly Billing
Instances are billed per hour from the moment they are created to the moment they are deleted. Stopped (powered-off) instances still incur the compute charge — storage is reserved whether the instance is running or not.
To stop being billed: Delete the instance (take a snapshot first if you need to restore it).

Invoices
Invoices are generated on the 1st of each month and charged automatically to your payment method on file. You can view all invoices under Account → Billing → Invoices. Invoices are also emailed to your account address.
Free Trial
New accounts receive 14 days free on any plan, no credit card required. After the trial period, you'll be prompted to add a payment method to continue.
