Choosing a Region
Pick the region closest to the majority of your end users. For US Gulf Coast / South-Central users, vh-us-south-1 (Houston) will give the lowest latency. For US East Coast users, use vh-us-east-1.
ℹ️
Resources (instances, volumes, networks) are region-scoped. An instance in vh-us-south-1 cannot join a private network in vh-us-east-1. Use floating IPs or load balancers for cross-region traffic.
Availability & SLA
- Network uptime SLA: 99.9% per region
- Instance uptime SLA: 99.9% for running instances
- Storage durability: 99.999% (ZFS with redundancy)
- Live migration is available within a region — your instance can be moved to a different host node transparently during maintenance
